Welcome to what promises to be an exciting new school year! At Horace Mann Elementary, we are delighted to partner with you in supporting your child’s learning journey. We believe every child has unique strengths and needs, and it is our mission to meet them where they are to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

While academic success is vital, it is just one piece of the puzzle. We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment where students feel confident to take risks, ask questions, and develop into lifelong learners. Our devoted teachers use engaging, research-based strategies to meet each child’s individual needs and build a strong foundation in reading, math, and problem-solving.

Equally important is helping students develop strong social-emotional skills such as empathy, resilience, and cooperation. Through daily interactions, class meetings, and support programs like our House System, we guide students in navigating challenges, building healthy relationships, and becoming kind, responsible individuals. The House System is a positive behavior support program that strengthens our school’s climate and culture. By dividing all students and staff into smaller houses, we foster close bonds and meaningful connections across grade levels. Our goal is to provide a wide range of experiences that create lasting memories for every student at Horace Mann.

Consistent school attendance is essential for success. Research shows that students with good attendance — particularly those attending 95% of the time or more — are more likely to earn high grades and be prepared for the next level of learning. We know that education works best when schools and families work together. Your involvement and encouragement make an incredible difference, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
